Jenny Alonge received both her undergraduate and doctor of veterinary medicine degrees from Mississippi State University. After veterinary school, Dr Alonge completed an equine medicine and surgery internship at Louisiana State University. She moved in 2003 to northern Virginia, where she practised as an equine ambulatory veterinarian for 16 years. In 2021, she accepted a position with Rumpus Writing and Editing, where she enjoys sharing her extensive veterinary medicine knowledge with pet owners and other veterinary professionals. Dr Alonge recently adopted two 8-week-old kittens, Popeye (aka ‘Pops’) and Olive, who keep her and her husband extremely busy and entertained.
